Three Important Soft Skills To Survive The Corona Disaster.

Soft Skills: The epidemic of the new coronavirus infection has exposed us to numerous challenges in our work environment, forcing us to work in less than ideal situations. We, of course, relied heavily on soft skills to survive prolonged anxiety.

According to the Pulse of the American Worker Survey conducted by US insurance giant Prudential Financial, the top three soft skills workers acquired last year are adaptability, problem-solving and time management. There is. Here’s how to cultivate these three skills in the post-Corona world.

Adaptability

Adaptability refers to being able to adapt to new situations. It’s important to be open and flexible, rather than sticking to your own way of thinking and doing things.

In the business world, changes occur not only during the epidemic of the new coronavirus infection. In the midst of mergers and acquisitions (M & A), corporate restructuring, and management replacement, flexible people can succeed in their careers. Having the ability to adapt thoughts and actions to deal with unforeseen situations can be a valuable team member who can adapt well to difficulties.

There Are The Following Ways To Acquire Adaptability.

Force yourself to think about new possibilities, rather than thinking “because it was always this way”.

  • Propose an alternative solution even if the first idea is rejected (and at such times). The adaptable person understands that by thinking hard and presenting a number of possible scenarios, he or she will arrive at a favourable option even if the first plan is not adopted.
  • Stay calm and confident under pressure when faced with unexpected challenges or changing circumstances.
  • When managing a team, stop thinking that there is a universal way to do it all, and ask each member what their goals are and how they can help them most effectively.
  • Look for opportunities to develop your abilities and show your adaptability by taking on new jobs and actively increasing your skill sets and knowledge.

Problem-Solving

Problem-solving skills can be used to solve problems quickly and effectively. Problem-solving often requires additional soft skills such as cognition, creativity, innovation, curiosity, and willingness to make a big difference.

Here’s How To Improve Your Problem-Solving Skills.

  • Think consciously and identify/predict problems. By paying attention, you will notice small details that others may overlook. Through this observing power, we can take the initiative in tackling problems.
  • Change your mindset and think of the problem as a hidden opportunity. What was thought to be a headache may lead to new services, products and offerings.
  • Use your creativity to find a solution. Creativity is the ability to recognize the world in new ways, find hidden patterns, make connections between seemingly completely different things, and create innovative solutions. Being creative, you can turn new, imaginative ideas into reality.
  • When implementing and evaluating a solution (especially if it is new), don’t be discouraged if you fail to reach your goals. Find out what went well and what you can improve, and then make adjustments to find a solution to your problem.

Time Management

The ability to identify and focus on priorities is important for working on a work project. In it, how and to whom you spend your time and your productivity at that time show how much you can focus and work hard on the most important things and people.

That said, it’s easy to say, but it can be challenging to put into action. Especially when you feel overwhelmed by the number of things you have to do and what you are asked to do.

Here’s What You Can Do To Master Your Time Management Skills:

  • Refuse short- and long-term goals that are not useful.
  • Notice that not all tasks are the same.
  • Based on the urgency and importance of the work, decide to do it yourself, make a decision, assign it to someone, or eliminate the work.
  • For routine work (replying to e-mail, etc.), devote a certain amount of time to the work and put it together. Ask them to call you if it matters.
  • Turn off notifications, put your phone in aeroplane mode, close room doors, and eliminate distracting factors.

Draw a border and maintain it. There is no obligation to respond 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, so limit the amount of time others can contact you.

  • work on one task at a time to move forward one at a time.
  • In line with your circadian rhythm, the most important thing is to do it at peak time.
  • Don’t forget to schedule a break for rest and charging so that you can work the next day.
